I am going a bit off message today. I was catching a train in Washington, D.C. at Union Station and was bombarded with people running to and fro bumping into each other all in a mad dash and pursuit to get some where. What madness!
The thing is, we are well equipped with the most complex, fascinating computer ever known to mankind sitting right between our ears yet we run around like mindless robots.
Here's what I need you to do. Whenever you are feeling rushed and running around not thinking about how you're impacting this world, take one minute or 60 seconds to STOP! and BREATH!
Focus your mind on the moment. Fully engage yourself with this "powerful pause" in your day. Try to "Be" mindful at all times.
That's it. You now have 86,340 seconds left to do with as you please.

Welcome to the new year. To some this is an opportunity to start over. To others it is a chance to remain the same. I would say, any time is the best time to reflect on your life and make necessary adjustments to accomplish your goals. The only time that really matters is NOW!
With that being said, it's time now to take one second to decide that you are going make a plan. From there, we will go through the process.
Ok, that's it. You now have 86,399 seconds left to do with whatever you choose.

If you could add 10% to anything you desire, would you do it? Imagine getting 10% more salary, 10% more business, 10% more hugs and kisses. Getting that extra 10% would really work out for some of us, particularly if we could choose where we would apply that 10%.
What if you gave 10% more? Imagine what would happen if you did 10% more work, gave 10% more to your customers, or gave 10% more hugs and kisses. The people around you would be eternally grateful and that is what this message is all about.
Society is being contracted. The woes of the market has made us more afraid and less open to sharing our ideas and expressions.
Whatever it is that you do on a day-to-day basis, take 10 minutes(600 seconds) and figure out how to give 10% more. It could be something simple - smile at 10% more people. They will feel better and I guarantee that you will too.
That's it, just 10%. You now have 85,800 seconds left to do with what you please.

Apr 5, 2009, A Dangerous Idea
My dangerous idea is that we are all self-determinant. As a fully functional thinking apparatus, we are all well-equipped to determine the direction of our lives. This direction, however, leads to now-here or nowhere. Deep down inside everyone feels this and knows it. The desire to belong exists in opposition to this which breeds the different religious practices promising some sort of paradise as long as we live within the confines of these boundaries.
The great books explain this but the deciphering is somewhat different.
People generally want to be told what to do (the path of least resistance) so instead of living a life with the freedom to choose, they accept living a life with freedom from choosing.
Thinking and taking responsibility for your thoughts is the hardest work mankind can attempt. The rewards are well worth the effort.

There was a news report recently that spoke of the number of teenagers in the work force are decreasing. I thought it was odd until I visited Mcdonald's. While there I noticed the 40+ year old workers there. It's not that teen employment is decreasing. It's that older workers are taking jobs traditionally filled by teens. As an employer, I get it.
We've become so inundated with how bad the economy is and we diligently search for that financial savior who will turn this all around.
Fear is prevalent in the market place and in the world. For the last few years, we've been afraid of the coming doom of terrorism, now it doom of monetary-ism. But, it's fear all the same.
Now is not the time to be afraid. Now is the time to try your faith. Faith is easy when untested. It's time to give your faith a tune up. Your true power does not depend upon the words of some "experts". It is you and only you who determines your future.
This is going to be a very prosperous year for us. Remember that, and I will be in touch.

Boy, how time flies. It seems like yesterday when I asked you to create some goals and accomplish them for this year. Did you? Where are you on completing them?
If you have not created goals, started on them, etc. it's not too late. Don't let this year end like so many others have in your past. Get up and do something. Take control of your life or someone else will.
Get used to completing things. Get conditioned to conquering those things that may have held you back (procrastination for one) in the past. Stop being a passenger travelling wherever the road takes you and become the driver and choose which road to travel.
Nuff said. It only takes on moment to decide and do something. Take that moment or one second NOW!
That's it. You now have 86,399 seconds left to do with as you please.

There is an old saying that you can know something like the back of your hand. Well, I have to ask, when was the last time you looked.
We take so much for granted in life. We expect things to be the same as they were yesterday. However, change is constant. Whether we resist it or not, change will happen.
My message today is to try and see your entire life with new eyes. Live your next moment as a new one. Experience all the wonders of it with a sense of adventure. You will be amazed at how joyful and easy life becomes.
Your mission today is to take just 3 minutes or 180 seconds and really look at the back of your hands. Notice the change, the texture, whether you need a manicure, the fine lines, and personality.
As you realize that something that has been with you every moment of your life, has changed; imagine how much the familiar world around you has.
Ok that's it. You now have 86,220 seconds left to do as you please.

Are you perfect? I am willing to bet that your first response is a resounding "NO!" My question to you is, Why Not?
We have had it pounded into our heads that there was only one perfect being to ever walk this planet and that we in no way measure up. I have a philosophical indifference to this and in no way am I debating your religious beliefs. However, if we live our lives from a point of imperfection, then how do we become perfect. Remember, a "seed will produce the fruit of its kind".
We are constantly bombarded with visions of just how imperfect we are. TV shows have characters with perfect bodies, perfect families, living in perfect neighborhoods. We buy into this scam by over-extending ourselves on credit, with work, at the gym, you name it. For too long, we have been told that we simply cannot measure up.
Here's a thought, how can your life be any less perfect than what it is in this present moment? Think about that for a moment.
You can only be what you are right now. This moment is the perfect culmination of all other moments preceeding it. It can be no other way. If you decide that your next moment should be spent doing something other than reading this, then that moment is the perfect moment for you.
Perfection is created in the mind as are all other creations. Thought is energy used to produce the thing that is imaged by the thought. When you realize that your perfection is in your control and your choice, the fruitless efforts of trying to live another way fades and you become the creator (in His image) of this thing we call life, your life.
This may sound spacey to you, but take some time,15 minutes or 900 seconds and ponder this idea. You are the perfect expression of you and that's all you will ever be.
Ok, you now have 85,500 seconds left to do with as you please.
Oct 6, 2008, There are 86,400 seconds in a day! 041
It's hard to believe that it's October already. The world has changed a bit particularly in the financial realm. My question to you is, "Have you taken your eye off the ball?"
The ball I am speaking of are your 2008 goals. Have you gotten so caught up in this financial mess that you have forgotten that you have something to do?
You have to be married to your goals: for better or worse, sickness and health, richer or poorer, well you get the idea.
The battles of this world are won on the inside so stop focusing so much on the news and spend the time recomitting yourself to accomplishing what you set out to do in January of this year.
Be a contrarian. While everyone else is engaged in television, roll up your sleeves and get to work. Persist when others give up. Work while others are asleep. Be courageous while others are fearful. Buy while others are selling.
Take 10 minutes or 600 seconds and renew your commitment to accomplishing your goals. If you haven't started, then commit to starting. There's still time left in this year.
Ok, that's it, get busy. You now have 85,800 seconds left to do with as you please.

What do you say when you talk to yourself? Do you praise yourself when you make a mistake or call yourself stupid? When you look in the mirror, do you see beauty or some flaw that needs to be fixed?
Often when we talk to ourselves we blend in facts with opinion. For instance, if you are overweight (whatever that means) you may say that "I am fat and can't lose this weight". It may be true that you are fat but your opinion that you can't lose the weight.
I had an issue with biting my nails sometimes to the point of bleeding usually when I am tired. Then one day, I decided that I would say when the urge hit me to bite, "I have well-manicured finger nails". It didn't take immediately but eventually it did.
It's now your turn. Take 15 minutes or 900 seconds and look in the mirror. Notice if any negative thoughts come through. Seperate fact from opinion and change that negative thought to what you'd like to see. Be conscious of what you say to yourself. You will eventually act it out to prove that you were right.
That's it. You now have 85,500 seconds to do with as you please.
Jul 20, 2008, There are 86,400 seconds in a day! 039
One constant in the world today is balance. Look around you and you will see that we have as much abundance as we have lack in the world. There are people who are gluttonous and those that are starving; happy and sad; feast and famine. We have drought and floods. It all exists in perfection.
Dis-ease is your body's way of telling you that you are out of balance. The body is perfectly designed for balance. When it comes to fitness, you need as much rest as you do exercise. And, by all means, play as much as you work.
Take 30 minutes or 1800 seconds to discover where you are out of balance and begin to look for ways to fix it. How do you fix it? Well, ask yourself and wait for the answer.
Ok, you now have 84,600 seconds to do with as you please.
Jul 14, 2008, There are 86,400 seconds in a day! 038
What is truth?
If I was to ask you your age could you beyond a shadow of doubt tell me? Absolutely not! What you would tell me is how old someone told you you are.
Think about this, practically all you know and all you hold true was told to you by someone else. What if they were wrong? What if you were awakened tomorrow morning to find out that what you believe to be "true" either culturally, religiously, or environmentally have been falsehoods, myths, or fairytales?
It is time you start discovering you. Take 15 minutes or 900 seconds to ponder why you do the things you do.
Beyond the seven laws of the universe (http://www.define-your-purpose-in-life.com/golden_rules.html), truth is fluid and personal. What may be true for you may not be true for others. You will, however, experience what you believe to be true for you. If you are not experiencing life the way you wish, you may have to simply change your mind.
Ok, that's it. You now have 85,500 seconds left to do with as you please.
Jul 3, 2008, There are 86,400 seconds in a day! 037
Today is goal check day. It's hard to believe that already the year is half over. How are your January goals going?
Take 1 hour or 3600 seconds and go over your list. If you have made no headway, it's not too late to do something about it now. Prove to yourself that you are a go-getter. Take something easy from your list and do it now. Don't plan to do, do it now. It matters not what that is. If you planned on dieting, eat a salad for lunch. Convince your mind that you are in charge and that things will be different.
Take that walk, learn that new skill, just do something today. You will be glad you did.
By the way, I will be communicating with you more than I have in the past. You see, I too have some work to do.
So go ahead, get to it. You now have 82,800 seconds left to do with as you please.

You've probably heard about "Oprah's Book Club." This is where she recommends books she likes.
Well, there was a book released today that's NOT on Oprah's book
club list...but that's only because she doesn't know about it...yet!
But, even more important than Oprah knowing about this book is that
YOU know about it...and own it.
It's called, "Wear Clean Underwear: A Fast, Fun, Friendly -
and Essential - Guide to Legal Planning for Busy Parents" and it's
written by California lawyer and mom, Alexis Martin Neely.

and your money, but you will also get over $3000 worth of bonus gifts

And, don't think this book is going to be depressing, hard to read or
full of legal jargon. It's just the opposite!
As you can tell from the title, Alexis has made this topic entertaining,
interesting and, yes, even a little bit fun.
By using an easy to read story-based format, Alexis walks you through
three stories that guide you to all the right answers for your family.
Her book is a fast read and when you are done, you will know the exact
next steps on what you need to do to make life as easy as possible for the
people you love most if you were in an accident.
By the end, you will know exactly how easy it can be to legally plan for
your family and she even gives you tons of free resources to get you
started or fix what you've already got in place.
http://wearcleanunderwearbook.com/howard
This is a book you must read even if you think you've gotten everything
taken care of.
Alexis discovered that of the 30% of parents who have taken action to
legally plan for their kids and their money, most have made at least
1 of 6 common mistakes.

Today, like most days, I am going to challenge you. I am going to challenge you to reach deep within yourself and do something that you've probably not done in a long while.
The path of least resistance has become the norm. We too easily accept mediocre results.
I want you to tap into your "inner musician". Inside of you is one, but beautiful note. The world is composed of this great orchestra and it's time for you to do a solo. You know that you have this one beautiful note inside that's just dying to get out. Is it a poem or a song? Do you save a life or make life a little easier for someone else? Is it your smile, touch, or soothing voice? Could it be a hug to someone who needs it? Do you finally express that great idea you've been dreaming of? You know that you have been holding back. We, the audience are anticipating the sound that will come from you. Take 15 minutes or 900 seconds to figure it out and show someone what that is.
What's special about you? What sound will you make when you decide to let it out.
That's it, you now have 85,500 seconds to do with as you please.
Apr 22, 2008, There are 86,400 seconds in a day! 035
Ok, so maybe I was a bit rough last time. I don't apologize. It's time to take the gloves off and dish out some tough love. That's right, I said love. Not the mushy, violin playing, rosey kind of love but that pick you up by the shoulders and punch you in the mouth kind of love. We've gotten too comfortable, too relaxed, and a tad too sensitive. I am that voice calling out in the wilderness for you to listen to your innerself.
It's already mid-April, 4 1/2 months into the year. Where are you? What have you accomplished from your list of resolutions made in January? What have you accomplished from your to-do list from last week?
It's time to blow the dust off and do something with them, anything but try to ignore what we promised ourselves we'd do. It's become too easy to lie to ourselves. No more excuses.
That's it, take 20 minutes or 1200 seconds and grab your to do list and do something on it. Let the momentum take you forward to complete them all. I'll be checking. You now have 85,200 seconds left to do with as you please.

In today's society, it has become much easier for us to lie to ourselves. We have become the generation of excuse makers. We look at the economy now and blame everyone but ourselves for our lack of discipline in all matters concerning finances. We buy houses we cannot afford and credit cards we cannot pay. For those who work and have not updated their skills with the changing economy, we have an excuse for that as well.
We have enjoyed a period of prosperity whereby everything we collectively touched turned to gold. But as the saying goes, "what goes up, must come down". Here we are America standing out in the world with our pants around our ankles wondering what happened. We happened, and we have to fix it.
There are two laws I want you to pay attention to. One is the law of rhythm and the other is the law of cause & effect.
Take one hour or 3600 seconds to gain an understanding of what's going on behind the scenes. I know it's been awhile but you now have 82,800 seconds left to do with as you please.
